Jordan and Taylor's Lush Squamish Valley Wedding at SunWolf Cabins

The Squamish Valley is a really special place - it’s where we spend a lot of our summers, cruising up dirt roads, hiking to waterfalls, camping out under the stars and climbing the beautiful granite nestled there. One of the most iconic Squamish wedding venues is Sunwolf, a beautiful outdoor venue next to the Cheakamus River, surrounded by trees and cozy cabins.

Taylor and Jordan probably spend even more time out in Squamish than the two of us, and it was a perfect spot for them to celebrate their love with their family and friends, where everyone could play outside together.

Although it was mid-July, the morning of the wedding was grey and rainy as we drove up the Sea To Sky highway from Vancouver. Friends, family and other wedding vendors were at the venue when we arrived, setting up long tables for guests under a large tent, and erecting a homemade altar adorned with gorgeous florals by The Wild Bunch. The bridal party got ready in two of the larger cabins on the property - snacking, drinking and getting dressed, and there was a buzz of excitement and anticipation.

Just before the the couple’s first look (which we highly recommend, and will be doing another blog post on soon!) the rain miraculously let up, so we headed about a 10 minute drive down the road for photos. . It was a perfect location for first look photos and couples’ portraits, as well as giving Taylor and Jordan a bit of time to themselves before all the guests started arriving and things really got into full swing (PS, the blindfold Taylor ended up wearing for the first look is actually a scarf generously lent to us by one of the bridesmaids - we had one for him, but when someone offers to lend you a Hermes silk scarf to use as a blindfold, you take it!)

The weather held out for the ceremony, which was a lush, green affair, and included the couples dog, Penny, as an honorary member of the bridal party. The reception that followed was equal parts warm, fun and raucous, and featured some really amazing speeches by friends and family members. The food was provided by Sunwolf’s on-site caterers, as well as Alice & Brohm Ice Cream, offering delicious real fruit ice cream from their charming Boler trailer. The evening’s entertainment was provided by one of the couple’s favourite local bands, and a dance party was in full swing shortly after dinner and speeches wound down. A few shirts were swung above heads, and a few solid crowdsurfs even went down over the course of the evening. The rest, as they say, is history…
